Deposited Gum
Depositing gum into moulds enables interesting and appealing shapes to be created and opens up the possibility of seasonal or character variations.


Gum can be created with multiple colours in a variety of patterns including stripes, swirls and layers. In addition, each of the components can have different flavour and /or textures allowing combinations such as sweet and sour; intense and long lasting; or flavour and function.


Texture combinations are further expanded with centre filled gum incorporating a liquid or other centre filling. To increase the range still further two different centre fills could be used and the final product could be panned to provide a crunchy shell.


Gum / Candy Products
Encapsulating gum in a hard candy shell opens up a range of intriguing possibilities. Two colour hard candy with a gum filling, or a hard candy shell with two types of gum filling create a dynamic textural experience which can be further enhanced with either complimentary or contrasting flavours.


The flavour experience can be extended with high intensity encapsulated flavours such as Firmenich’s Flexarome. Effervescent flavours in either the gum or candy component are another interesting possibility.


Functional Gum or Gum / Candy
It is widely accepted that gum helps to protect against dental caries. Other functional varieties include nasal decongestants; teeth cleaning and whitening; and breath-fresheners. Multi component gums provide the opportunity to combine different functions e.g. teeth whitening and breath freshener; nasal decongestant and throat soother; vitamin delivery and tooth protection.

Lollipops' increase in popularity around the world is driven by taste, convenience and novelty. Traditionally a children’s product, they are increasingly to be found in office desks and glove boxes.
